Closing on Your First Home While Delivering Your First Baby: No Problem Land Title Has you Covered

As a real estate agent, one of the most exciting perks of our job is helping young families start their lives together finding first home. It's a moment filled with anticipation, excitement, and sometimes a little bit of stress. But what happens when buying your first home coincides with the birth of your first child? That's exactly what we experienced of the excitement of young first time home buyers singing closing docs in the hospital and having their baby on the same day.

As we were finalizing the last of my six transactions with my long-time client Teresa, who was selling her Denver condo, we received some unexpected news. The buyers, a young couple, were expecting an emergency delivery of their baby at Littleton Hospital on the very same day that they were supposed to close on their first home.

Even amidst the chaos and uncertainty, our closer at Land Title, Ashley Oliver, showed remarkable initiative and had arrived at the hospital before I even got word of the situation by the buyers agent. Ashley took immediate action and recognized that getting signatures on the closing documents. Ashley went above and beyond, personally heading to Littleton Hospital to gather around the entire extended family and secure wet ink signatures from the buyers. In between doctors and nurses checking vitals and administering IVs, Ashley worked to ensure that the buyers would have a roof over their heads to bring their newborn baby Sylvia Rose home to. Her dedication and hard work is a true testament to the kind of values and ethics we hold dear at our company.

This experience was a first for us and likely for many others in the industry. It showed us that as real estate agents, we have the privilege of being a part of our clients' most important moments and helping them through the unexpected. It reminded us that sometimes, we get a little too involved in our clients' lives, but that's what makes our job so fulfilling.

I am glad to be apart of this heartwarming story of witnessing young families start their lives together is one of the most rewarding aspects of our job. We want to congratulate the new family on their new home and the birth of their beautiful baby girl, and extend our gratitude to Land Title for their exceptional service and dedication to their clients.
